Exaggeration was the satirical technique he used. I mean really. No one in their right mind is REALLY gonna suggest we all eat our kids.

I think Shrek is the most modern satirical thingy. It makes fun of fairy tale stories in a cute and sarcastic manner.

Uh. Yeah. I have no idea how I would use satire in my cause. It’s really not too fitting.

Unfortunately I do plan on doing work over spring break. This is because I’m a bit behind and have to catch up. Plus all of my friends work during the day so I gotta do something with my spare time.

I’m going on a snowboarding trip next weekend though. Pretty stoked. I’m going with a few friends (none of whom have ever snowboarded). And they aren’t getting lessons or anything so that’ll probably blow up in all our faces. Good times though.

Our cause is to raise awareness on teenagers struggling with depression. Nowadays, depression is an issue that seems to be swept under the rug. They’re told that their gloominess is just a teenaged “phase” when in reality it’s a problem that needs to be dealt with. A lot of kids go through their young lives thinking that something is wrong with them but never getting answers, which only increases their depression. Our goal to is to provide help to those young teens who are struggling with depression. If they have support from their own peers, I feel that that could be a beneficial factor. All teens do struggle with depression at some point – but on going depression isn’t normal. We hope to raise awareness about depression in teenagers, as well as give some statistics for people to see just how many people suffer from this. We’d like to also identify the signs of depression so others can identify those who suffer more quickly.

We want to influence other teens – both those who suffer from depression and those who do not. We also want to influence parents. The parents of those who suffer from depression mainly. If parents are informed and pay attention to the signs of depression in their own children – then perhaps fewer children’s problems will go unrecognized. Our main mission is to make sure that no teen’s problems with depression go unnoticed and to provide support for them.

Our letter will most likely have to go to an organization somehow involved in depression. We’d need to find an authoritative figure that is somehow linked to a depression organization or a support group for teenagers.

As of right now, we’re not quite sure how we will present this to our community. Perhaps fliers or something of that nature. But we’ve not come up with a solid plan for our presentation yet.

We will be splitting the work 50/50. We will be researching as well as coming up with ideas and planning. Mainly, we will be dividing the work as evenly as possible to ensure we get both of our projects done well and on time.

I’ve spent a good amount of time thinking about working on my project. And I’d say roughly….20 minutes actually working on it. But that’s because Rob & Big came on and I got distracted. ”We’re buddies! Special buddies.” Ha. Just kidding?

 Well I have faith that it’ll get done so I guess that’s enough – right??

One was “Do It In The Dark.” Sounds kinda sick but it’s about energy conservation. It’s a party hosted in the dark. Kinda cool.

I also saw on the wall the Teens for Jeans thing. It’s about teenaged homelessness and helping to prevent and find shelters for those teens who don’t have homes.  I thought that sounded like a great cause too.

Epoch also looked very interesting. They’re t-shirts that raise awareness about world causes. They’ve got t-shirts about sexual exploitation and one for child soldiers in other countries.

I also liked Extended Hands. They knit hats scarves and sweaters for those who cannot afford them and live in cold areas. ‘Cause knitting a sweater for a kid in Hawaii wouldn’t make much sense… But yeah. Seemed nice.

 ..I’m done.

My project has made zero progress.  It’s kinda overwhelming. Lotsa stuff to do.

 It’s coming along though – slowly.  Luckily there’s a movie about her coming out… So I plan to attend… Ha.

I really like her books though. They’re interesting and fairly easy to understand for the simple minded folk like myself.

What’s working well for you?  The part that’s working well for me is the whole “reading” bit. ‘Cause I know how to read…

What struggles are you having? I’m struggling with finding information about her since she’s so ancient that I’m skeptical as to whether the information is acurate or not.

What has surprised? The part that’s suprised me is how little I’ve gotten done in the large scheme of things!

What questions do you hope to have answered? I hope to have all the questions required to get this stuff done answered by the end of the project. I just want an A!
